Taxonomy and Ecology of Cephalopod Paralarvae in Mexico

In August, we had the privilege of offering our community an engaging talk on the taxonomy and ecology of cephalopod paralarvae in Mexico, presented by expert Rubén García, a researcher from the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur and the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine Sciences-IPN. During this session, we delved into the fascinating world of these marine creatures and their early developmental stages.

The talk provided a unique opportunity to explore advanced techniques for understanding the distribution of paralarvae, their population structure, and their impact on commercial fisheries. Rubén shared valuable insights into how these early stages are crucial for the health of marine ecosystems and the sustainability of fisheries along our coasts.

Participants learned more about the diversity of cephalopods that inhabit our waters and the importance of their conservation.

It was undoubtedly an enriching experience that reminded us of the need to protect these valuable marine resources.

At Conserva Loreto, we remain committed to education and scientific research. We extend our gratitude to Rubén García for his insightful presentation and to all attendees for their interest in learning more about the biodiversity of our seas.
