In April, the community of Loreto came together with great enthusiasm to take part in the 2025 City Nature Challenge, a global citizen science initiative aimed at documenting the flora, fauna, and all forms of life found in our municipality.

Thanks to the active participation of more than 90 people, we achieved an extraordinary outcome: over 12,000 observations recorded and more than 1,300 species identified through the iNaturalist platform.

Loreto earned second place nationwide, standing out as one of the top locations in Mexico with the highest number of biodiversity records in 2025.

A collective achievement that reflects Loreto’s strong commitment to nature and biodiversity conservation!
