A special guided hike to Cajón Canyon, a hidden treasure nestled in the majestic Sierra de la Giganta, was held exclusively for members of the Friends of Conserva Loreto program.

The experience was led by Camilo Cazares, a certified local guide from the community of Ligüí, who shared his deep knowledge of the landscape, its history, and its close connection to nature. The hike was further enriched by botanical insights from Dr. Sula Vanderplank, whose contributions helped participants better understand and appreciate the region’s unique plant diversity.

This activity was organized as a heartfelt way to thank our Friends for their continued support throughout the year and for making each of our events and conservation efforts possible.

Beyond the hike itself, participants enjoyed a warm and welcoming atmosphere, family-friendly camaraderie, and a special buffet prepared by Camilo, creating a meaningful moment of celebration, friendship, and connection with nature.
