Let’s Take Care of the Wetland!

In collaboration with the CEB 5/2 High School and thanks to the invitation of Professor Tere Oñate, we conducted sessions on the importance of wetlands, their ecosystem services, flora, fauna, and functioning, with a special focus on the La Negrita Wetland, highlighting its ecological, economic, recreational, and biological value.

During four sessions, we accompanied the students on an exploration of the wetland, showcasing the diversity of mollusks that inhabit it and pointing out the invasive species that threaten the balance of this ecosystem. The goal was to deepen understanding of these valuable ecosystems, their biodiversity, the environmental services they provide, and the urgent need to conserve them against potential threats.

As a complementary activity, small cleanup sessions were carried out in coordination with ZOFEMAT and other civil society organizations, joining efforts for the well-being of the community and the protection of our natural resources.
Every action counts to keep our wetlands alive!
