Photographic exhibition “Loreto: Then and Now- journey through time”
In October, the photographic exhibition “Loreto: Then and Now- journey through time”, at the Museo de las Misiones. Later, in November, the exhibition moved to the Kumutu Exhibition Hall in the Municipal Palace, remaining open to the local community and visitors.
This photographic journey celebrated the beauty of our town, its resilient spirit, and the importance of preserving what defines us as a community. Each image served as a window into the past, engaging in dialogue with our present, showing how Loreto has evolved: how it has developed while also managing to preserve its natural surroundings. A visual tribute that connects memory with the transformation of our land.
The exhibition featured a selection of unpublished photographs from the 1950s and 1960s, captured by Enrique Ortega —the first Mr. Baja in 1970, recognized by the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA)— and reinterpreted with a contemporary perspective by his son Roberto Ortega, together with photographer Joseph Cheires. Through these images, visitors were able to discover how the history, identity, and landscape of Loreto engage with the present, offering a unique perspective on our community and its legacy.
