As part of our collaboration with Green Flash Conservation Science Expedition, we continued exploring and documenting the intertidal biodiversity of Puerto Escondido and Isla Coronados, contributing to scientific efforts to better understand the ecosystems of the Sea of Cortez.
During these field activities, we conducted field transects that contribute to species inventories and population monitoring. We also collected environmental DNA (eDNA) samples, a tool that allows researchers to detect species through genetic material present in the environment.
These experiences strengthen our collaboration as local partners and contribute to scientific knowledge that helps us better understand, monitor, and conserve the extraordinary biodiversity of the Sea of Cortez/Gulf of California.
